Booking

We prefer that all sessions be booked 48 hours in advance. If you are interested in booking a session for the same day and the schedule permits, we may accommodate you. To ensure that the session you are booking in advance is locked into our schedule, a 50% deposit for your proposed recording time is required. The deposit will be applied to your session or refunded if you cancel within 24 hours before your session time. If your deposit is not received before 24 hours of your session time, your time may be forfeited to another client. There is a minimum of two hours for any recording session, however consultations are a minimum of one hour.

 

Studio Time

You should arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled recording time in order to ensure that you start on time.

The session clock begins at the scheduled session start time. If you arrive early and the studio can accommodate an early start, the session clock will begin at that early start time. If you are late for any reason, you will be charged from the scheduled session start time.

 

Starting Time

When you schedule time, it is expected you will arrive on time and we adjust our work schedule accordingly. It should be understood that we would bill you from the beginning of your scheduled time regardless of what time you arrive.

 

Ending Time

Often another session is scheduled immediately following yours and in most cases we allow at least 1/2-hour leeway between sessions. If you should require a little more time and there is no session scheduled after we may continue your session. It is always a good idea to estimate the amount of time you will need and schedule accordingly. Keep in mind, engineers may experience ear fatigue during long sessions (4+hrs), which will affect the quality of your work.

 

Payment

Client agrees to the hourly rate specified on the rates page or quoted by booking agent. Sessions are billed as a minimum of one hour, and then in one-hour increments thereafter. Hourly charges do not include the cost of any media (CD’s, tapes, hard drives, etc.).We prefer that you pay in full, ie cash, or money order before the session begins. The sum payment total will be based on an hourly rate for non-mixed recording (see chart…) Be prepared and have your money beforehand. Additional time has to be paid for in advance also (if you are going to go over your time please know how much time over that you will be doing).

 

Masters

Your session must be paid in full prior to receiving your master. Masters are generally provided on CD, DVD or hard drive, but may also be supplied on other formats of your choosing. Masters will be saved for 30 Days upon which they will be deleted FOREVER. To have your masters transferred to a DVD immediately after your session, the price is $10 (for approximately 20 minutes of studio time and we will provide the DVD free of charge), anytime thereafter is $15. Copies via CD are $2 each.

 

 

Lost and Found

If you leave something at the studio we’ll do our best to safely store. However, xyayx nor its constituents can be held responsible in the event that your gear is damaged through unwillful occurrence (water damage, theft etc). By signing this you agree that Xyayx multimedia studios is not responsible for loss or damage to gear left behind due to such events.

These rules apply to all persons. There are absolutely no exceptions whatsoever. This ensures a healthy business relationship for you as a recording artist and for the studio as well.
